    Key Accountabilities/Decision Making & Influence

    As the Director of DevOps, your responsibilities will include:

    • Create and execute a cloud migration strategy to move on-premises systems to the cloud
    • Continuously monitor infrastructure costs to optimize for spend
    • Relentless focus on system availability and performance, putting key monitoring and alerting systems in place and generating key learning from even the smallest of issues
    • Responsible for Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring optimal Recovery Point and Recovery Time Objectives
    • Adopt Continuous Integration and Delivery processes to automatically build, test, and deploy code
    • Create an environment where security is a top priority.  In addition to responding to security audit findings, help the team “shift left” and integrate security earlier in the software development lifecycle
    • Inspire and motivate teamwork for achieving goals
    • Facilitate the day to day activities for a team of Infrastructure and DevOps Engineers. Integrate Agile practices for optimal velocity and visibility of work.
    • Key contributor to a technology roadmap
    • Encourage and support independent thinking
    • Contribute to the creation of departmental procedure documents and working instructions.
    • Lead a team of 10 DevOps Engineers
    • Provide mentoring and identify training opportunities to team members, staying current in the latest technologies and best practices
    • Identify and partner with key technology vendors

    Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

    Required Skills/Experience

    • 5 years experience providing technical leadership with a team size of at least 10 employees
    • 3 years experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
    • Solid understanding of Agile Software Development Lifecycle and DevOps concepts
    • Experience with some or all of the following technologies:
      • Database technologies focused predominantly on Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
      • Windows and .Net Framework, Linux
      • Web Server technologies including IIS, Weblogic, Websphere, and Apache Tomcat
      • Atlassian suite, including Jira, Confluence, BitBucket (Git-based)
      • CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins
      • Container technology including Docker and Kubernetes
    • Strong foundation in security, having executed security audits and remediating findings
    • Management of a multi-million dollar technology budget
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
